Brain Hub, an MSME (Micro enterprise, Services) registered under UDYAM, a software/IT services enterprise (NIC 62011: Writing, modifying, testing of computer programs), with Udyam Registration No. UDYAM-UP-02-0127470, operates India Opinion. India Opinion is a product of Brain Hub. In this policy, Brain Hub is referred to as "we" or the "Data Fiduciary". This policy explains how we process your personal data when you use the India Opinion Android app (the "Service"). It is issued under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), the DPDP Rules, 2025, and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it.
1. Data we collect

Religion, caste and political opinions are sensitive. We collect them only with your consent, use them only for anonymous aggregate statistics, and never sell them or use them for advertising. We do not ask for your Aadhaar or voter ID. We do not show ads and do not collect the advertising ID. We do not knowingly process data of anyone under 18. The Service is only for adults, and we check age using your date of birth.
Payments: Polling is free. Payments for the optional paid creator tool are handled by a third-party payment gateway. Your card and UPI details are not stored by us.
2. Legal basis and consent
We process your data based on the consent you give when you sign up (Section 6, DPDP Act) after receiving this notice (Section 5). Some processing, such as meeting legal obligations, also relies on legitimate uses under Section 7. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account. Withdrawing does not affect processing done before then.
3. Sharing
We never sell your personal data. We share data only with processors that help us run the Service: cloud hosting and database providers, Meta (WhatsApp OTP delivery), Google (Gemini AI for voice and chat processing), and third-party payment gateways (only for purchases of the paid creator tool). Each is bound to use the data only for that purpose. We also share data with authorities when Indian law requires it. Public results show only anonymous aggregate numbers.
4. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app under Profile > Delete account, or at indiaopinion.online/delete-account (full steps on our Delete Account page). When you delete your account, we delete your profile data: name, mobile number, gender, date of birth, religion, caste, subcaste, state and constituency. Your past votes are kept only in unlinked, anonymised form so aggregate results stay accurate. Payment records are kept, unlinked from your profile, as tax and accounting law requires.
5. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you have the right to:
- Access a summary of your personal data and how we process it (Section 11)
- Correct, complete, update and erase your data (Section 12)
- Grievance redressal (Section 13)
- Nominate a person to exercise your rights if you die or become incapacitated (Section 14)
- Withdraw consent at any time
To use any of these rights, email contact@indiaopinion.online and mention your registered number. We respond within the time limits the DPDP Rules set. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
6. Security
All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). We use access controls and least-privilege access, and we store IP and device signals only in hashed form. If a personal-data breach occurs, we will inform affected users and the Data Protection Board as the DPDP Act requires.
7. Election blackout
During ECI blackout windows (Sections 126 and 126A, RP Act, 1951), results are hidden. Voting data is stored but not published until the window ends.
8. Contact and Grievance Officer

9. Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you in the app before they take effect.
